Peak One Residence — Hong Kong
My role in the project:Project Director - Design & Build
Project type:Residential, Interior
As the weekend vacation home for the owner, this 1300+s.ft. project called for the personalization of the new property. The owner is a connoisseur of art and wine, a major design theme inspired by classic Wu Guanzhong Chinese Watercolour paintings was applied to the various parts of the interior. The result was a playful overlay of certain subjects chosen from Master Wu’s paintings, primarily architecture and environment related profiles. These were converted from paintbrush strokes to 3-dimensional motifs installed throughout the major area of the unit. A wine cellar is concealed within the apartment for the owner's private wine collection. The overall color theme of the unit retained a muted palette, referring to the white, gray and black tones found from the paintings. Subtle splashes of green, purple and red are found on surfaces and furniture in different zones of the house to demarcate the characters of the rooms.
